Agile in software has been around for 23 years under that name. However, the concept of using using empirical evidence to inform future decisions are as old as evolution itself.
In the modern world, agile principles and practices and – to a deliberately lesser extent – the processes and tools of agile in software are highly transferable to any business context involving knowledge or complex adaptive work, and for groups of people working together.
Whilst not perfect, ‘agile’ has succeesed as becoming the norm in software, digital and new poduct development – and that’s because it’s all fiundamentally behavioural choices.
